Come for a lively conversation among four local mystery writers, then stay for dinner with the authors. The panel will be moderated by Allium Press of Chicago publisher Emily Victorson.
Tracy Clark is the author of the Cass Raines PI series. The series, set in Chicago, features a hard-driving African-American female ex-homicide cop turned gumshoe. Her debut novel, Broken Places, made Library Journal’s list of the Best Crime Fiction of 2018.
Susanna Calkins writes the award-winning Lucy Campion historical mysteries set in 17th-century London and the Speakeasy Murders set in 1920s Chicago. Her third novel received a 2016 Macavity Award (Sue Feder Historical Mystery).
Bryan Gruley is the author of the award-winning Starvation Lake trilogy, and the stand-alone mysteries Bleak Harbor and Purgatory Bay. His debut novel, Starvation Lake, won the Anthony, Barry, and Strand awards.
Raymond Benson is the author of nearly 40 published books, including the Black Stiletto saga and his newest book, Blues in the Dark. He is mostly known for being the first American writer to be commissioned by the James Bond literary copyright holders to take over writing the 007 novels.
